A sixth generation "Mainer", Martha Truscott has spent many years on the coast and traveled throughout her home state. The sky, land and water of Maine are "part and parcel" of her soul. She considers herself a colorist intrigued with nature's combinations of hues and abstractions.
An oil painter and printmaker for many years, she continues to explore various media to create new works. Many of her works at the Green Lion are ink-wash and pastel studies inspired by the coastal landscape around her home. Most recently, she has been exploring and producing encaustic pieces: using intaglio printmaking as a technique, painting with encaustic medium and oils and encasing pastels.
